Have a Good Week, #6
DJ/Producer duo HOTPRETTY (aka Abigail Grohmann and Zooey Glass)
Hot off the heels of our announcement for their headlining slot at Subterranean and party alongside Hhunter at Epiphany Center for the Arts, we brought in Chicago-based DJ/producer duo HOTPRETTY to give you the scoop on what they’ve been into lately. Abigail and Zooey co-run Manifest, curate lineups for the party series Serum, provide creative input on ARC Music Festival and more. Be sure to follow them here.

Dior and I
Our favorite documentary and a catalyst for us whenever we feel creatively stuck, this doc follows Raf Simon’s first ever Couture show as he takes the helm at the historic House of Dior. Particularly inspiring is Raf’s approach, as someone who can neither sew nor draw, he demonstrates the power of reference, conversation, and iteration in delivering a stunning collection in collaboration with his team. The doc also features Alexandre de Betak who is a hero of ours for his work transposing the environments of fashion shows to the realm of the transcendent. [Editor’s Note: as of writing this, Dior and I is available to stream for free on Tubi]
Temporary Pleasure: Nightclub Architecture, Design and Culture from the 1960s to Today
Each chapter focuses on a distinct phase and city: Italy’s politically radical clubs of the ‘60s; New York City’s disco scene; Detroit and Chicago’s house and techno paradises; Ibiza’s counterculture communal retreats; Britain’s rave culture; and Berlin’s techno scene. We’ve found endless inspiration for our installations here, including a concept that would become the backbone of our design for the Area 909 stage at ARC Music Festival.
Our favorite restaurant of the moment. A warmly chic interior with food good enough to make it our top choice for delivery to boot. Get the green beans and thank us later.
Desert (12” Rave Mix) by Moods
Quite simply the greatest song ever written. A dancefloor epiphany bestowed upon us by Kim Ann Foxman in the smoky shrouds of a late night at Smartbar. A guiding light in the studio and at the controls, only deployed from our USB on very special occasions.

If you’ve seen us in the last few months, you’ve probably seen us wearing an item from Todo Pasa. A soulful take on the Modern Western by our dear friend Darius Osorio. Get in now and guarantee yourself some great “told you so” points later when this becomes the brand of the moment.
Founded by French producer Kendal, Ritmo Fatale is our favorite label. Genre descriptions in 2024 have reduced themselves to something more like madlibs. So we’ll say this instead … these are not just tracks, they’re songs. Sleek, tight, sexy dancefloor destroyers that work just as well with the windows down on a late night drive.

This brand went from iykyk to known pretty quick. The clothes look like our music feels. Techy but soulful. Referential and yet original. Its tasteful minimal futurism, executed effortlessly. Their spring 24 collection made a surprising departure from their structured and rigid forms to ethereally drapey and flowy.
Abigail’s signature scent. A warm and addictive potion that’s a little milky, a little musky, a little moss-y, with a touch of jasmine. We loved learning that this fragrance was made in collaboration with An0ther Magazine, where they tried to literally recreate the scent of old magazine pages, but in a hot way.
