Have a Good Week, #29
DJ WiFi, Seattle-based producer and DJ.
For Vol. 29, it was only right to call on DJ WiFi ahead of her Chicago debut with Blackclub and Lé Bump this Friday at Subterranean. Fresh off the release of her single Like 2 Ride with Boys Noize’s label ONES and ZEROS, she’s primed for a big 2025 and beyond.
My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
A classic Ghibli film that I grew up watching. A rekindled love of this movie has me diving into similar films and shows.
Natural wine
Shout out to our local watering hole - Otherworld. Located here in Seattle. Definitely add it to your list.
Tarot cards
I'm a firm believer in all things witchy, and tarot combines my lifelong fascination with the supernatural, with self-care and meditative reflection.
Handbuilding + ceramics

I joined a pottery studio this past year and have been loving the process of handbuilding abstract pieces. I've created abstract visual art in the past, so it's been inspiring being able to merge different mediums and incorporate something new with something familiar.
This spot is located pretty much dead center of Kyoto, Japan. Tucked away on an unassuming, yet vibey side-street. It was hands down the best ramen I've ever had the pleasure of trying.
Darude - I Can Feel The Beat
I discovered this song when I bought my first trance CD from Circuit City in the early 2000's. It was called "Trance Party Vol. 2" and I was instantly hooked on the genre. Definitely shaped my taste and still has an impact to this day. This song's big euphoric melody, with the repetitive vocal, and also the simple drums--a lot of my current music production follows similar concepts.
Uniiqu3 - Bubblegum
She's always stood out to me as a female artist/producer/vocalist that stayed true to her sound, and is one of the main reasons that Jersey Club blew up. Definitely look up to Uniiqu3 as an artist. I'll sometimes sneak some clubbiness into my tracks and she's a big reason why.
Daft Punk - One More Time
Hugely influenced my love of dance music very early on, say middle school and high school. EDM + Techno wasn't super prevalent where I grew up, but Daft Punk really stuck out. I think the French House techniques with heavy sampling and extremely repetitive loops is something that still influences my music to this day.
Obscura - Out of Grace
Another early 2000's track, also off the "Trance Party Vol. 2" CD I bought as a kid. Super repetitive melody, which seems to be a common theme for me.
Jaymie Silk - Temptation
Fast forward to recent times and Temptation being released. I very much enjoy Jaymie Silk's ability to make interesting techno and house. His sound certainly stands out. This track in particular has everything you could need--chord stabs, 808 toms and a kendrick vocal chop.
