This week we called upon designer Joseph Evans to let us know what’s been moving the needle recently. Joseph currently designs for Pastelle (Los Angeles), anOnlyChild (New York) as well as doing the merch design for R&B singer Maxwell’s Spring 2024 tour. Previously, he’s worked as a designer for Yeezy and Nahmias and was the artistic director to the jeweler Johnny Dang.
Grillz

I’ve always been very interested in jewelry and having worked in the jewelry industry with Johnny Dang for several years, it’s always been important to me to work with jewelers that have the best intentions for their clients. Prince (based in HTX) is one of those people. Good energy all around and a jeweler who actively reaches out to the artist/fashion community to collaborate with them on individual creations for their pieces. This particular set has my “E” initial for my last name. Heritage piece.
Bag
I call this my carry-all. I take it everywhere with me. It’s a vintage bag decorated with vintage charms and beading that feel really representative of me and my personal style.
Vibrant (maple cappuccino)

Undoubtedly the “coolest” cafe in Houston. Vibrant is a health-conscious cafe with a really interestingly designed space that I frequent often while I’m in the city. I’ve sort of created my own drink there that I can confidently say is one of my favorite cappuccinos. Hits perfectly every time.
Cowboy boot
Anyone who knows me knows I’m always in a boot. This pair specifically is my everyday pair to which I’ve had custom Vibram soles added to the bottom of.
Roadarch (dot) com
I love going around and looking at different houses or buildings of architecture. I travel a lot for work, so when I’m in a new city or a place I’m revisiting, I find myself on this website (that looks like it hasn’t been aesthetically updated since its creation) to find any interesting buildings or houses to check out. The website is incredibly detailed with an extensive list of architecture from Mid-Century, Space Age, Brutalism, and Art Deco across the country.
Yale university hat
I have no affiliation to Yale, but I do love vintage Ivy league and college merchandise so I find myself wearing this hat a lot. My dad also loves bulldogs it also makes me think of him.
Film camera
My film camera isn’t particularly fancy or one of the better known film cameras, but I do love the way it shoots and I use it often to capture moments with friends, family, and life.
Letterboxd
I’m a film nerd so this app is perfect for me to log movies, check out what I haven’t seen yet, and read reviews of what other people say about movies too. Probably my current favorite app on my phone.
Geneva speaker
I own about 5 of these speakers and I just love the design and vibrant colors of them and how good they look in the house. This particular model is discontinued so I’ve bought all of my collection of Geneva’s second-hand. The sound is also excellent.
Recto pants
I’ve been on the hunt for really good pair of black trousers for a while and this pair from Recto checked off all boxes for me. Heavy in material, falls perfect on the waist and shoes, the color is a true black so they look quite dark which I love. I’m very particular about sizing and proportions so to find a pair of pants where I don’t have to make any tailoring changes feels like one in a million.
