This week, we reached out to Chicago-based stylist Mel Romanski to fill us in on what she’s been into lately. Mel is a wardrobe and prop stylist, along with recently having managed merchandise on tours with K.Flay and Chappell Roan. Be sure to follow her here.
My beloved, shitty little video camera I got off of amazon.com last year for a tour with Chappell Roan. I wanted something cheap and easy to use to get footage on the road and it worked perfect for what I needed! I completely forgot about it until last month when I left to go out on the road with K. Flay and I fell in love with my shitty little video camera all over again. Rated 1 star on google reviews. 24 megapixel resolution lol.
I won’t forget about her anymore. ₊ ⊹
I don’t wear a lot of makeup- only because I’m bad at doing it - but I never leave the house these days without applying my fake freckles. I use a mix of Lime Crime’s Freckle Pen in shades Amber and Cocoa across the bridge of my nose. The layered colors make it look super natural like I just got a little kiss from the sun. I think everyone looks cuter with a fake freckle situation.
*not applicable to those with natural freckles*
Marufuku Ramen in Japantown, San Francisco

I’m pretty sure there’s like several locations of this spot, but I can only speak to the one located inside Japan Center. I recently took myself on a date there and cured a hangover with a bowl of Hakata Tonkotsu DX and a Diet Coke. Perfect.
I could tell you the notes of this perfume, but all you need to know is that it literally smells green. I think I read that it’s supposed to emulate leaves on a fig tree, rather than the fig itself. I like to wear it when I’m feeling playful, which is often. ᵔᴗᵔ

I’ve been heavily inspired by Tigra Tigra since I discovered the brand a few months ago. Such thoughtful color pairings, pattern mixing, and shapes. I want everything from their garments to their home textiles! If I had to choose just one thing, I’d probably start by getting one of their hand-dyed pieces with the “moon” motif (It feels like a house code in the making).
Costume Design
I’ve recently signed on to do the costuming for Makenzie Beyer’s play, “Existential Slumber Party.” This will be a slight departure from the normal styling work that I do, so I’m very excited for the challenge! You can see what I come up with for the cast’s pj's at Rhinofest this summer. ૮₍ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ₎ა
